Mon 29/01/07 Ransomes 4 1/2 - Meridians 4 1/2
Ransomes came close to giving Meridians their first beating of the season despite fielding two pairings ( I. Lewiston/W. Wright and S. Taylor-Marriot/J. Fitch) that had virtually no previous experience of playing together. Nevertheless, both these pairs came up with the goods against strong opposition. S. Flewitt/J. Bennett were on court in game 8 with the scores standing at 4 - 3 in Ransomes' favour. Unfortunately, J "Benji" Bennett's performance was well below par in the first half and he was left floundering on numerous occasions by the skillful opposition who won the half. However, the Ransomes pair approached the second half with typical determination and secured the draw. An excellent all-round performance.

Drakes sent Quacking
The Drakes were given a good ducking by an on-fire Ransomes outfit at Sidegate Avenue last night (Monday 22/01/07). Ransomes were inspired by their new playing surface, and displayed grit and determination to win the match convincingly 5 1/2 - 3 1/2.
